HYDE Perth debuts as the new cultural heart of the Australian metropolis and the brand’s first hotel inside a purpose-built property. Designed by Ark Capital, the 121-room urban retreat from Ennismore reimagines a 1960s structure as a space for connection and experience also inspired by HYDE’s origins in early 2000s nightlife. “The entire hotel has been custom designed, with each room carefully curated and layered to create a richly tactile experience,” says Ark Capital managing director Sarah Townson. “Australian materials are integral throughout, complemented by collaborations with independent artists and makers to deliver a distinctly artisanal expression of the hotel.”
Maximizing radiant natural light, warm interiors are layered and grounded in place with a distinctive Australian palette of hand-laid stone and richly grained timbers complementing sun-washed hues and bespoke furnishings. Supple leathers, textural wallcoverings, and woven rattan elements contrast locally sourced ceramics to imbue a sense of balance and depth. Relaxed vignettes unfold across an open, sunny ground floor, balancing intimacy and organic flow. Art is another key cornerstone of the guest experience, with a curatorial concept exploring dialogue between Australia’s natural landscapes and the expressive energy of music and movement. Muted coastal tones redolent of sand, stone, and timber act as a backdrop for bold, rhythmic pieces that translate sound and celebration into visual form. Lifts are even wrapped in a custom wallcovering by Walmajarri artist Jimmy Pike to extend a narrative of indigenous storytelling. Rounding out the public spaces, FARRA channels the Greek Isles across an interconnected dining room, terrace, pool, and bar, to seamlessly transition from morning to late night.
Guestrooms and suites serve as personal sanctuaries defined by texture, light, and color to inspire both intimacy and celebration. Custom furnishings, tactile fabrics, and sun-kissed tones infuse effortless glamor and anticipation, while custom cushions, handcrafted rugs, and bespoke ceramics add tactile sophistication.
