Aman expands its luxury empire in the Americas with the launch of Amanvari on the East Cape of Baja, Mexico. With a name combining the Sanskrit words for “peace” and “water,” the new resort aptly embodies the brand ethos of peace, privacy, and intuitive service beside the Sea of Cortés. Beyond initial contributions by Heah & Co., the resort is crafted by Elastic Architects as an architectural response to the setting with an intimate design located within the exclusive Costa Palmas community. “The opening of Amanvari is a significant milestone in Aman’s continued expansion in the Americas. Oriented around a central lagoon, Amanvari boasts a slew of amenities overlooking framed vistas of sea and sky. In addition to sprawling natural landscapes open for exploration, guests are also provided access to the 1,500-acre Costa Palmas golf course and three miles of swimmable beachfront. Onsite dining includes the coastal Mexican concept Luma, Italian eatery Arva, and a 10-seat omakase experience at Sesui. The Lounge Bar and the Pool round out the F&B lineup with laidback space for libations as well. The Aman Spa and Wellness center also amplifies tranquility across two signature hydrotherapy facilities, six private treatment rooms, outdoor relaxation areas, a traditional banya and hammam, 24-hour fitness center, multifunctional studio, beauty salon, head spa, and an open-air yoga pavilion.
A total of 18 standalone, two-story casitas span the guestroom lineup, some of which are even elevated above the landscape by the estuary. Each unit encompasses 833 square feet along with 1,700-square-foot terraces, 32-foot-long heated swimming pools, and outdoor showers and fireplaces. An earthy, artisanal palette of wood, stone, and white concrete is applied by hand in homage to the local, restrained vernacular of the setting as well.
